Cale Gale tops first Nationwide practice at Nashville

Cale Gale topped the speed chart for the first practice session for the NASCAR Nationwide Federated Auto Parts 300 presented by Dollar General at Nashville Superspeedway, recording a fast lap of 158.722 mph in the #33 Kevin Harvick Incorporated Camping World Chevy.

Bobby Hamilton Jr. was 6th on the chart with a quick lap of 156.936 mph in the #25 Team Rensi Smithfield Ford. Hamilton was on the track for 15 laps.

Burney Lamar was 7th in speed in the #37 Baker Curb Racing Greg Biffle Foundation Ford, turning a fast lap of 156.685 mph of the 26 laps driven during the session.

Brad Coleman turned a lap of 156.542 mph in the #27 Baker Curb Racing Federated Car Care Ford, putting him 10th on the speed chart. Coleman was on the track for 21 laps.

Casey Atwood, sitting in for Greg Biffle, was 21st in speed in the #16 Roush Fenway Racing CitiFinancial Ford with a lap of 155.020 mph. Atwood was out for 22 laps.

Willie Allen, sitting in for Kyle Busch, recorded a lap of 154.720 mph of the 12 laps he practiced in the #32 Braun Racing Dollar General Toyota.

Brett Rowe was out for 21 laps, recording a fast circuit of 149.333 mph in the #05 Day Enterprises 31W Insulation/CertainTeed Chevy, which was 42nd on the speed chart.

45 cars participated in the session. Several Sprint Cup drivers were arriving via helicopter to participate in the evening practice session. (6/6/2008)
