The Kentucky-Tennessee Latemodel Series will be kicking off its inaugural season in 2009. It is the brain child of Craig Thompson of Renegade Race Cars.
Thompson has been advocating getting all the asphalt tracks in the Kentucky-Tennessee region on the same rule book for years. He has finally succeeded with a preliminary meeting with the track owners of Beech Bend, Whitesville, Highland Rim, and Corbin. All of the owners agreed this would be good for the sport, fans, and racers alike.
The series is still in the planning stage and all the details are yet to be worked out. It is hoped that within the next few weeks the rules, which will be similar to the rules at Beech Bend, and the schedule will be available. Each track is going to try and host 2 races this season and each event will be twin 50 lap features.
There will be a Kentucky-Tennessee Latemodel Champion crowned at the end of the season based on a points system awarding points based on the number of cars in attendance at each race and one point per position. (12/31/2008)(Turn or Burn Motorsports)
