Weekly racing is expected to continue this year at the Music City Motorplex, the racetrack at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.
The Tennessee State Fair’s board decided today to enter agreements with individuals and organizations that want to run races or use the facility for other events this year. The most recent track operator’s five-year lease expired on December 31st, and the fairgrounds’ long-term future is up in the air as the city considers redeveloping the 117-acre site.
