Rain caused qualifying for the NASCAR Nationwide Dollar General 300 Powered By Coca-Cola at Chicagoland Speedway to be delayed by two hours.
Once the track dried, Nashville driver Casey Atwood qualified the #05 Day Enterprises 31-W Insulation Ford at 172.469 mph, giving him the 31st starting position.
Jason Keller will start 35th after a qualifying run at 172.013 mph in the #27 Baker Curb Racing Pull Ups/Jewel-Osco Ford.
Eric McClure will roll off 38th in the #24 Rensi Hamilton Racing Hefty Ford, after qualifying at 171.576 mph.
Carl Edwards grabbed the pole in the #60 Roush Fenway Racing Scotts/Ortho Ford after a qualifying run at 176.956 mph.
