Bobby Hamilton Jr. buys Highland Rim, sets rules meetings

For the second time this year, Highland Rim Speedway in Greenbrier TN has been sold. Bobby Hamilton Jr. took over the speedway at 11:30 am yesterday (Wednesday).

Hamilton immediately announced that the 2010 season will get underway on March 13th, with a complete schedule to be released soon. Hamilton also stated that he intends to refurbish the aging facility.

Hitting the ground running, Hamilton announced 2010 rules meetings beginning Monday, December 7th. Fairgrounds Speedway competitors, now without a home, are invited to attend and race at Highland Rim. Those drivers should attend the meeting which is most like the division they raced at the fairgrounds, or whichever division they wish to compete in for 2010. The fairgrounds Super Truck drivers should attend the Late Model meeting.

The meeting schedule is as follows:

Monday, December 7:
  • 6:00 pm: Rim Runners
  • 7:30 pm: Front Wheel Drive Modifieds
Tuesday, December 8:
  • 6:00 pm: Taxi Cabs
  • 7:30 pm: Super Stock
Wednesday, December 9:
  • 7:00 pm: Open Wheel
Thursday, December 10:
  • 6:00 pm: Late Model
  • 7:30 pm: Sportsman
Friday, December 11:
  • 6:00 pm: Challengers
  • 7:30 pm: Pro Trucks
